The Sumerian Civilization

When someone mentions ancient civilizations we typically think of the Egyptians,the Romans and maybe even the Greeks. Well here come the Sumerians with a civilization that began in 4000 BC. There seems to be a consensus between experts that the Sumerians were probably the first civilization in the world’s history.
The Sumerians are so ancient that when their civilization ended it would take another 700 years before the birth of Tutankhamen.
As strange as it may sound their primary resource was mud. With this insignificant substance they developed bricks which they used them to build amazing structures called ziggurats. They also used it to develop writing.
The Sumerians are credited for inventing the sailboat, the chariot, the wheel, the plow, sun dried bricks and also irrigation for farming.
