The Olmecs

The Olmec inhabited southern Mexico.Their Civilization was established aroud 1400 B.C and lasted for an estimated 1,000 years. It is believed that their religion was based on Shamanism.

They were exceptional farmers, artists, mathematicians and astronomers.They wrote in hieroglyphics.

The Olmecs are probably best known for the mysterious massive Stone head sculptures resembling African warriors they left behind.

They did not build multiple massive constructions like the Aztecs, Mayans and the Incas however they did leave behind a pyramid which is located in the Mexican state of Tabasco in the La Venta dig site.
